Th book was released in August 2008  is doing well and if you happen to read it, do tell me how you liked it.

It was a great experience! ( if only had some more money invloved in it!)

No one flew down from London to sign us a muticrore deal. Too bad. So, no great story to tell here.

But this is what happened.

3^rd March 2008, that is the date we submitted the first three chapters of my book along with the synopsis to Shrishti Publishers and distributors, with the hope that there is an active god out there. What we didn’t know was, not only did he exist, he was damn quick too!

Two days later, we were asked for the complete manuscript!

That really got us running!

We had not expected an acceptance, let alone, so soon!!

23^th March 2008, the date when my complete manuscript was accepted and given the green signal by our editor (Ms Dolly Majumdar). That was a lightening quick reply by industry standards. May be our book was a blockbuster from the word go. We would still like to believe in god though.

Apart from Shrishti, we had submitted our manuscript to Penguin India and Rupa & Co. . But big as they are, so are their evaluation process, ranging from anywhere between two to six months. I dare say, but before you actually go through the ordeal of getting your book published, remember one thing – You are at the BOTTOM of the food chain. So don’t expect a royal treatment unless your last name is Bhagat. Or Rushdie.

The intangibles pleasures of seeing our name in print within a few months of getting over with manuscript was a temptation we found hard to resist. We gave in to that and the extremely sweet ways of our publishing team. There are some things that are more alluring than the clanging of gold coins. And there isn’t any clanging in the publishing industry, so we decided to run after the some things.
